Travelling in Utrecht: Getting around Utrecht

Choosing a hotel that is ideally located in Utrecht's city centre, you are granted short commutes to the most fascinating and exciting sights in Utrecht.

Getting around in Utrecht is as easy as 1-2-3. Once you arrive at the hotel, ask at the reception to receive a City Map and guide of Utrecht , so you can start to plan your daily activities. The city centre of Utrecht is small enough to be tackled on foot. For longer distances there are plenty of city busses leaving from Utrecht Central Station that is just around the corner. For the bus you will need an OV-Chip card which you can buy at the Station. Travel within the city using buses and trams is efficient, fast and relatively cheap.

The station is undergoing a facelift with the ultimate goal to combine the station with the old city centre. International and domestic trains arrive her very often as Utrecht is the main transport hub for all of the Netherland. The tracks run underneath the central hall. If you take the stairs up you will find various kiosks, book shops, a chemist and a mini-supermarket. The large, blue departure signs are a good place to agree to meet someone in the busy hall. When you travel by train you can use your OV-Chip card with a minimum starting amount of €20.00 or you can buy your train ticket at the ticket office or the ticket machine where you can selected multiple languages and pay with debit or credit card.

For additional ticket options please inquire at the reception desk or visit ns.nl or 9292ov.nl

If you decide to discover the surroundings by car, the reception will be able to help you arrange a rental car, or give you directions for sightseeing.

If you are in need of a cab, the reception will be able to help you arrange one. The taxi fare for a ride within the city borders from A to B is €12.50. We also can arrange a transfer from or to Schiphol Airport at a charge of €55.00. Our Preferred Taxi provider is UTC.
