Head Chef at Chino Latino Nottingham celebrates 10 years anniversary
Nottingham, 7 March 2013 - Chino Latino Nottingham’s Head Chef Paul Thacker celebrates ten years of service this month in the same year that the restaurant itself turns ten years old.
Paul began his career at Chino Latino Nottingham as a Junior Sous Chef back in February 2003, training intensely under the guidance of Sushi Chef Jimmy Nakamura (formerly of Nobu), in the restaurant’s pre-opening period. Paul was subsequently instrumental in the launches of Chino Latino Leeds and Chino Latino London and was named Development Chef for the European brand in 2005.
Paul’s passion for the brand is palpable. His Chef’s life is dedicated to the brand where he still sees immense opportunities to grow and develop concepts. He even met his wife Rachel whilst working at Chino Latino Nottingham and credits Chef colleagues Cong Dang and Son Saysena for inspiring him and supporting him throughout his career through hard work and long hours. Paul’s ambition is to see Chino Latino Nottingham get bigger and better over the coming years, helping to keep the unique menu imaginative, fresh and constantly evolving.
“I have enjoyed designing the concept and menu development for the past ten years, Chino Latino offers a unique style of cooking and bar concept. The food takes flavours from the Far East and combines them with modern cooking styles and techniques, or even turning it around by taking classic flavours and transforming it into Far Eastern food.”
Paul has previously won an award for “Best Ambassador in the Industry” at Nottingham Stars Awards 2011 and is even credited in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest custard cream in the World, created at Chino Latino Nottingham in 2011.
