Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts supports the sustainability and growth of trees which are so crucial in providing oxygen and greenery. We will continue to donate volunteering hours to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust to maintain the 40 trees planted in 2016,  which at the time represented the 40 international Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts properties in operation around the world as part of the Park Plaza Responsible Business Month.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts supported women's charities, Breast Cancer Care, Breast Cancer Care Cymru, Pink Ribbon and Egészség Hídja Összefogás during October - Hotels across the UK, Germany, Hungary and The Netherlands hosted a range of fundraising activities including wearing pink and selling cakes for the Breast Cancer Bake Off, promoting pink cocktails and mocktails, as well as a £1 donation for each reservation during the month.

Save tomorrow, today!

As part of our quest for a sustainable future, Park Plaza is proud to launch a new initiative Save tomorrow, today where we are reducing the amount of water, power and detergent used. By choosing to opt out of all housekeeping services during your stay, you can help us make a big difference to the future of our planet. Of course your efforts will be rewarded.

StreetSmart SleepSmart

Park Plaza hotels in the UK and the Netherlands signed up again to help the homeless through charities StreetSmart and SleepSmart. Hotels took part in the fundraising activity during November and December 2016 by encouraging guests to make a difference through a donation of £1 on their total bill. 


Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts teamed up with Movember for a fourth year to raise funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer.

On 24 November 2017 we challenged our hotels and regional office teams to a relay between six London hotels, in a big effort to raise awareness and funds for Movember. 

Together we raised a grand total of £20,000!


Hotels Show Off Global Fundraising Results!

Hotels and outlets across the group united in a global fundraising drive for World Childhood Foundation, Breast Cancer Care, The Pink Ribbon Foundation, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and Sleepsmart Streetsmart throughout autumn and winter 2017.

Earth Hour

Global campaign started by WWF to reduce carbon emissions and protect the planet. On the 19th March 2016, Earth Hour brought together communities from across the world celebrating a commitment to the planet by switching off lights for one designated hour. People taking part were encouraged to continue the commitment to Earth Hour for longer than the designated hour in question. 

Our brand wide theme for this year’s Earth Hour is: #FUNPLUGGED. In light of this – we were serving a themed Funplugged & Tonic cocktail across all our hotel bars and lounges during the period 14-20 March 2016.

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts in London run for Breast Cancer Care!

Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts challenged its hotels and regional office teams to a relay between its five London hotels, in a big effort to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Care. Starting at the group’s iconic 1,019 roomed, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London, runners embarked on a four leg, relay-style run in fluorescent pink running tops as part of breast cancer awareness month. From Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London runners went to Park Plaza Riverbank London, then on to Park Plaza Victoria London. The next leg, being the longest at four miles passed through Hyde Park and on to Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London. The runners then battled to the finish line at Park Plaza County Hall London.

Foodie stars come out to support Hospitality Action at Brasserie Joel, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London

Walter Ishizuka, Raymond Blanc, Bruno Loubet and Ashley Palmer-Watts joined forces to create an extra special Christmas dinner to raise funds for industry charity Hospitality Action.

The Charity supports hospitality workers past and present who have fallen on hard times, either with financial support or emotional help. 

The exclusive fundraising event took place on Monday 5th December 2016 at Brasserie Joël and raised over £15,000 for Hospitality Action.

The charity provides opportunities for permanent employment, or exciting careers in hospitality, leisure and tourism and, to support, our hotels in the UK actively take part in a range of activities throughout each year.

The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation is committed to support those children who are the most vulnerable in our society. Although they are the least responsible for the world as it is, they suffer the most. Wherever Sixt is active, they help children in need. Park Plaza is proud to support these initiatives!

Cash for Kids charity

Park Plaza Leeds teamed up with 96.3 Radio Aire and Magic 828's Cash for Kids charity to raise funds for the neediest children in Leeds by abseiling down the Park Plaza Leeds hotel, one of the tallest buildings in the city centre at 77 metres - that's 20 storeys.

Hospitality Action at Brasserie Joël

French-Japanese Chef Walter Ishizuka – who trained under the wing of the celebrated ambassador for modern French cuisine, Paul Bocuse – cooked alongside three celebrity Chefs: Nathan Outlaw, Simon Hulstone and Eric Lanlard. The latest trio of gastronomic geniuses showed support for the charity by joining forces for one night only on Monday 1 December 2014. They created an exceptional evening of food and entertainment and raised £20,000 for this unique charity!


Park Plaza hotels supported UK homeless charities for a third year

Park Plaza in the United Kingdom signed up once again and supported charities SleepSmart and StreetSmart, which aim to provide hope and comfort to those living on the streets, by adding a voluntary £1 donation on to their guests’ room and restaurant bills. Throughout November and December 2013, the hotel group encourages guests to give back to their local communities with the £1 donation, 100% of which went directly to helping the homeless and underprivileged in the cities where the money was raised. In 2012, guests staying at Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts during November and December raised £18,000 for SleepSmart and StreetSmart, easily beating their target total of £10,000.
