HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR EGGS IN THE MORNING, AFTERNOON AND EVENING? An all-day, eggs-any-way menu plays host to the alternative Full English: an opportunity for six people to take on the King of the egg family, The Ostrich Egg. Priced at £65, this unique dish includes an entire egg fried or scrambled accompanied with generous helpings of Portobello mushrooms, heritage tomatoes, streaky bacon, Cumberland sausages and black pudding.
FIRE IT UP Florentine boasts a suitably stylish backdrop of beautifully upholstered charcoal leather banquette seating, comfy leather sling back chairs, hefty granite-style tables, floating halo-lit ceiling lights and a lavish destination bar area. A counter table for up to eight diners sits alongside the open bread oven and flatbread preparation area so diners can watch the chefs at work, molding and kneeding freshly-made dough ready for the furnace. Visitors can expect tear-and-share flatbreads heaped with exquisite toppings such as creamy burrata, smoked chorizo, manchego, rich goat’s cheese, spinach, tahini, wild mushroom and ricotta with black truffle.
The casual dining menu includes weekend specials of Bottomless Brunch on Saturdays and slow-cooked roasts on Sundays including the ‘Tomahawk’ - a 35-day aged rib of beef to be shared between two, sure to satisfy even the choosiest carnivores. Teamed with a DJ and live music programme in the bar every Thursday - Saturday, Florentine presents the ultimate relaxing kick-back.
SIT & SIP Perched up at the bar for pre- or post-dinner tipples, explore the range of contemporary cocktails complete with home-made infusions and syrups, from lavender to plum. Highlights include the Jam Sour - shaken with gin, lemon juice, raspberry jam and angostura bitters and Thyme To Be Great - a refreshing take on a G&T mixed with lime juice, tonic, freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice, St Germain, cocchi americano bianco and a sprig of fresh thyme for garnish.
Guests can also enjoy a range of hand-picked British bubbles from Chapel Down (Kent) and Camel Valley (Cornwall) and craft beers from Portobello Brewing Co., Frontier Craft Lager and Brewdog as well as superfood fruit and vegetable cocktails for those looking for a nourishing boost. The extensive wine list doesn’t take a backseat either, featuring no less than 45 bins with a well edited selection available by the glass.
