Park Plaza London Waterloo pays homage to the historic circus
April 2018: To mark the 250th anniversary of the modern circus, which first took place on Hercules Road on the evening of 4th April 1768, Park Plaza London Waterloo – located just a stone’s throw from the original site on the same road – has today announced its summer program of Kids’ Club activities that pay homage to the historic event.
Helping to make sure the little ones have everything they need to keep them from twiddling their thumbs during the school summer holidays, the family friendly hotel will be hosting a regular series of activities that will take them from room-to-ring in an instant. But fear not, your kids won’t be left to balance their way across a tightrope or swing on a trapeze; the fun-filled activities will keep their feet firmly on the ground with farm visits, circus-inspired buffets and movie afternoons to name but a few. Activities will include:
Farm visits (family-friendly Oasis Farm Waterloo is located across the road from the hotel)
Movie afternoons complete with traditional circus snacks such as popcorn and candyfloss
Clown ‘lessons’ every Saturday •Circus-inspired muffin and shortbread decorating classes
Circus-inspired kids buffet
