New Champagne Bar Introduces Istrian Sparkling Wines to guests
8th July 2013, Pula - A new Champagne bar, featuring some of the world’s most coveted premium Champagne brands, as well as prized Istrian sparkling wines, has now opened at Park Plaza Histria Pula, located in Istria’s southern peninsula in Croatia.
Park Plaza Histria’s Champagne bar stocks Ruinart, Krug, Dom Perignon and Taittinger amongst many other brands as well as a selected range of highly regarded Istrian sparkling wines sourced from local producers MISAL, and French sparkling wines such as Bouvet Ladubay.
Misal Peršurić is one of the largest producers of sparkling wine in Istria, located in the village of Peršurići, near Poreč. From humble, family-run beginnings, this winery grew into a national wine-making success story and today their range includes seven different natural sparkling wines. MISAL sparkling wines are produced following the traditional method of fermentation in bottles, the same method as that used in the French Champagne region.
The Champagne bar list also suggests pairings of bubbles with local gastronomic delicacies including “marinated Adriatic shrimp tails with black truffle”, “salted anchovy fillets with onion pearls” and “rare roast beef on arugula with roasted figs and balsamic cream”. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts will include chocolate-coated strawberries, watermelon pearl salad and chocolate mignons. The bar has both indoor and outdoor seating, enabling guests to enjoy their drinks in the sunshine, with the bar itself opening out onto the bustling Verudela Avenue of high-end boutique shops and delicatessens.
Park Plaza Histria’s Champagne Bar is open daily from 08.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m. – as well as a Champagne and sparkling wine menu, it also offers spirits, wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages as well as a selection of teas and coffees.
Park Plaza Histria Pula, with its recently added new wing, now boasts 368 recently renovated guest rooms with private balconies overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Key facilities include a cinema, spa, fitness centre, indoor and outdoor seawater pools, several restaurants and bars. The hotel is conveniently located a few kilometres away from the airport and historic town of Pula making it an ideal destination for both leisure and business guests.
