Travelling in Berlin: Getting around Berlin

Getting around in Berlin is as easy as 1-2-3. Once you arrive at the hotel, ask at the reception to purchase a Berlin WelcomeCard or a simple public transport day ticket, so you can start your Berlin visit hazssle free and ready-to-go. An abundance of public transport options are within walking distance of the Berlin Mitte hotel and lets you choose between, bus, underground and metro.

The Berlin WelcomeCard is available from 16,90€ per person and is valid for 48 hours, including public transport in Berlin and many discounts to popular tourist attractions, entertainment, sightseeing tours and restaurants. Our friendly reception team will help you pick the right tickets for the duration of your stay to allow for a great sightseeing experience in Berlin.

A regular Berlin public transport ticket can also be purchased directly at the reception desk, starting from 2,30€ for a two hour one-way ticket. Day tickets are available from 6,30€ granting unlimited travelling in Berlin for 24 hours within Berlin's city centre zones. Getting around Berlin by car

Should you, despite ideal public transport options, decide to discover the city by car, be aware that the Berlin city council has introduced an environmental zone which restricts the amount of traffic permitted within the central area in an effort to reduce pollution. The zone is defined as the area within the suburban rail ring. Only vehicles which meet strict emission standards are permitted to travel within this area.

All drivers wishing to travel within this area (including foreign cars) must purchase and display a colour coded badge or incur a fine of 40,00€. Please order the environmental badge online prior to travelling to Berlin to avoid charges. Drive safely and buckle up.
