PARK PLAZA HOTELS & RESORTS SUPPORTS SLEEPSMART AND STREETSMART
For a second year, the hotel group’s eight UK hotels helped homeless charities.
In 2012, Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts in England once again signed up to support charities SleepSmart and StreetSmart, which aim to provide hope and comfort to those living on the streets, by adding a voluntary £1 donation on to their guests’ room and restaurant bills and raised over £18,000 with the help of the guests.
Throughout November and December 2012, the hotel group encouraged guests to give back to their local communities with the £1 donation, 100% of which goes directly to helping the homeless and underprivileged in the cities where the money is raised.
The charities have raised more than £5.5 million since they began fundraising in 1998 and have been well received by guests who welcome the opportunity to help those sleeping rough during the Christmas period, often choosing to give more than the £1 donation.
In 2011, guests staying at Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts during November and December raised £25,443.50 for SleepSmart and StreetSmart, easily beating their target total of £10,000.
