Did you know?

The Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall was begun in 1976 and was opened to the public in 1977 on the first anniversary of his death. It is in this hall that the body of the Great Helmsman lies in its embalmed state. Wrapped in the Chinese flag, the body is enclosed in a crystal coffin. Each night it is lowered into a subterranean freezer.
