During the year 2013 Amsterdam celebrates 400 years of innovation, cultural development, international trade, innovative art and the 400th anniversary of UNESCO World Heritage - the Amsterdam canals, the town's landmark. The Rijksmuseum will open its doors again and welcome its guest with 1,5 kilometres of art in 80 restored halls including 8000 items that narrate the story of 800 years of Dutch art and history. The famous Concertgebouw and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra celebrate their 125th anniversaries with an enormous number of special concerts and a world tour of the 120 musicians over 6 continents. Felix Meritis, the centre of international art, culture, trade and science, celebrates its 225th anniversary with an extensive program.
